Oil, health and safety when handling it.

Handling oil / fluids can be safe, it depends on what you use.
Oil in all its forms and other fluids used in vehicles / industry / machinery ... is harmless to humans and performs important functions as it lubricates, dissipates heat, causes motion in hydraulics and much more. The problem arises when it is mishandled and gets onto skin, into eyes, coats the floor of shops / garages where it causes slip and fall hazards, or seeps into the ground creating an environmental issue.
What has to change is attitudes and the methods used to handle fluids, all of which is quite easy to address providing you have the strength and determination to facilitate change.
- Change is the lubricant that moves people and companies closer to where they want to be, addresses issues, increases profit and creates a positive atmosphere that people contribute to. Attitudes brighten up when change is applied that is understood and accepted.
- Old habits / negative attitudes and ways of doing things can be addressed and changed.
Health and safety is not just about processes, it has even more to do with attitudes and how people dispatch their duties.
- There is a lot of money to be saved by employing methods / equipment / solutions that keep harm away while speeding up necessary processes, and dealing with issues caused by older ways or poorly thought out practices that are repeated throughout years and sometimes decades.
- Why are these repeated? Fear of change, fear of making decisions, fear of reprisal, people in positions they are not qualified for hence they fear ... fear.
There are many solutions available that address health and safety issues, while contributing cost containment and cost avoidance thereby increasing ROI and bottom line profits.
